Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the things families ask us most. Don’t see yours? We’re always happy to talk.
What ages do you serve?
We support children and adolescents ages 2 to 18 years. Services are individualized based on each child’s developmental stage, strengths, goals, and family priorities.
Do you accept insurance?
Insurance participation varies by service and provider. Our team can help you understand available payment options and guide you through the next steps before beginning services.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis to receive services?
Not always. Some services may require a formal diagnosis or referral, while others may be appropriate for children experiencing developmental, social, emotional, behavioral, or daily living challenges. Our team can help determine the best starting point based on your child’s needs. If you plan to use insurance for services, your child will likey need an autism diagnosis before services begin.
How do I know which service is right for my child?
You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. We’ll take time to learn about your child’s strengths, needs, and your family’s goals to help determine which services may be the best fit.
Do you offer services in schools or at home?
Service locations may vary depending on the program and your child’s individualized plan. We strive to support skill development across meaningful environments and collaborate with families to determine the most appropriate settings for care.
What is ABA therapy, and is it right for my child?
ABA therapy is a research-based approach that identifies the reasons behind challenging behaviors, determines which skills are missing, and builds those skills through structured, data-driven teaching. It is most commonly recommended for children with autism but can benefit any child with significant behavioral or developmental challenges. Whether it is right for your child depends on their specific profile, something we assess before recommending it.
What is the difference between ABA therapy and counseling?
ABA therapy focuses on building behavioral and functional skills: communication, independence, social interaction, and daily living. Counseling addresses the emotional and psychological experience of your child — anxiety, identity, self-esteem, grief, and relational challenges. Many children benefit from both, and the two services are designed to work alongside each other rather than compete.
What if my child has had bad experiences with therapy before?
Previous experience does not predict what happens here. We assess each child individually, move at their pace, and adjust our approach based on what is actually working, not what should work in theory. Many of the children we serve have had inconsistent or difficult experiences elsewhere, and building trust from the beginning is always our first priority.
